From the Pool Committee

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

When I was growing up on Wellington Road, my family LIVED for the arrival of summer. We had a fun tradition of starting a daily countdown to Memorial Day weekend and the opening of the pool. Every January 3 rd , we’d start our countdown, saying “Four months and 26 days!” So today, even though we are still in the depths of winter, we are already counting down the days until the first dip in the pool.

The pool committee has started its work, with several new members joining the veterans. The committee roster follows this article. Thanks to immediate past chairman Kevin Bowie, along with Matt Bollinger, Dave Dorsey, Shelley Roseborough and Keith Voss for their hard work the past two years and more.

Resident membership information for 2010 can be found in the membership section of this site . Again this year, no hard copy documents will be mailed to your home. Please download the registration card and send it along with your current family photo and fee to 821 Hatherleigh Road, or save a stamp and drop it in the mailbox located at the COP building. If you have questions about resident membership that cannot be answered here on the website, you can contact Christian Merlo, our resident membership chairman, at 410-707-0985 or cmerlo@jhmi.edu . As always, take special note of the early bird deadline dates to save yourself some cash. And, thank you for helping us continue to get greener.

There will be one change this year regarding the pool schedule between the beginning of school and Labor Day. The pool will open on Monday through Friday from 3pm until 8pm. It will not open at noon on those days. This will save us enough budgetary funds to open the pool an extra weekend in September.
