What: Stoneleigh Dumpster & Donation Day is a Baltimore County sanctioned community cleanup where Stoneleigh residents can pass along unwanted goods to nonprofit organizations, other residents, recycling or landfill.
When: May 11, 8:00am-12:00pm (Conveniently 2 weeks after the Stoneleigh Yard Sale)
Where: Stoneleigh pool parking lot.
Suggested donation: $5, to benefit our Community Shade tree planting project.
What can you bring?
- Unusable, non-recyclable items that can go into the landfill.
- Clean metal to recycle in a special dumpster.
- Fluorescent light bulbs and unusable electronics for Stoneleigh volunteers to take to Baltimore County hazardous waste dropoff site for safe disposal.
- Items for reuse. Community members typically pick through things that they could use.
- Organizations taking material donations:
- Habitat for Humanity “Restore” (building materials and supplies, tools in working condition, doors, windows, tile, lumber, furniture)
- Social service groups e.g. Student Network, Safe Streets Baltimore (household items, toys, winter clothes for children and adults, toiletries
- BYKE (bicycles and bike tools)
- Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Orchkids (musical instruments for children)
Note: No freon, explosives, vehicle or marine batteries, liquids, gasoline, other chemicals or toxins, tires, concrete, or yard wastes are allowed in the dumpster or for bulk trash pickup.
